| Q - What was your fitness goal when joining The Inner Athlete? A - My goal was primarily to feel fit, become stronger and get healthier. Q – What made you to decide to get fit? What was your turning point? A - I wanted to lose the last few “baby” pounds I’d never gotten rid of after my kids were born. My two kids were getting older and I realized I just didn't have the energy or strength to keep up with them. My husband was working out again and that also motivated me to get back in shape. I also wanted to make sure that I set a good example for my daughters about the food choices we make. Q – What was your plan for weight loss and diet? A - I would try to get in some walking at school keep an eye on what I ate! Q - How are you able to maintain your new lifestyle? A - It’s all about PRIORITIES, PRIORITIES, PRIORITIES!!!!! I make working out a priority. It’s right up there with going to work, taking care of my kids, and going to school. I don’t let time be an excuse. I’m a mom, work full time, and I’m working on my masters’ degree. I FORCE myself to make time. Q - Do you have any motivating secrets for success? A - Whenever I don’t feel like going to the gym, I tell everyone around me that I’m having a hard time getting there and they need to force me to go. I’ll have friends at work, my husband and even my kids, bugging me to go workout that day. I try to plan my schedule each week so that I am making time to go work out. I figure out what’s going on that week, and what days I’ll have to go. I also imagine Alondra telling me to get my behind in gear and just do it! Q – What is your current workout schedule? A - I try to work out 2 to 3 times a week. If I don’t make it into the gym, I jump on my machine at home. My husband and I coordinate our schedules every week so we both have time to work out. |
